Hamilton at Richard Rodgers Theatre

After performances in the world’s most popular locations as well as Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be on tour for a limited season this winter in Richard Rodgers Theatre of New York, an equally regarded theatre renown for its favorite facilities fit to host world-class plays and shows.

Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, produced and composed by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, basing it off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It recounts the real story of Alexander Hamilton in a ‘hipper’ style, staying devoted to the truth behind Hamilton's life but with and musical styles that makes Hamilton extremely entertaining. Hamilton initially began off Broadway in mid 2015 and was rapidly met with excellent reviews for its debut. Among plenty of critics and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as Hamilton’s opening night with its excellent cast which included the likes of the musical's creator Miranda himself in the title role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, wowed audiences in its debut with a brilliant production. The Musical went on over the next decade to collect eleven Tony Awards from 16 nominations, as well as Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Ever since its debut, Hamilton has also gone on to be performed in numerous theaters across the globe, where it has been getting continuously positive reviews. BroadwayWorld calls Hamilton “the hottest ticket in town”, as it appeals to a bigger range in audience due to it being understandable to both the more seasoned generations who came for the history behind Hamilton, and the newer audiences that came for the fresh and innovative approach behind Hamilton. Over in London’s West End, TimeOut mentions their worry behind the show being overhyped, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. Even just recently with a touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes the Musical as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they add.

Both critics and viewers alike agree that the Musical is a must-see this winter as it kicks off its performances all over the world.
